45 Great Accounting Websites to Take Inspiration From

Your website is often the first impression a prospect gets of your firm…

And first impressions are fast.

(They last too!)

Within seconds, a visitor can decide whether your firm looks worth trusting or just another generic firm they’ve seen before.

That’s why I’ve put together 45 of the best accounting firm websites out there, so you can apply the things you like to your own.

Let’s go!

Tips to Building a Good Accounting Website

1. Focus on the Client

Your website is a marketing tool that will communicate how you will improve the lives of your clients.

If you just talk about yourself, your values, etc., you are not advancing the sale.

As I shared in one of my LinkedIn posts, you have a pretty short window to catch someone’s attention, and you won’t be able to do that by just making your website mostly about you or your firm.

A LinkedIn post by Ryan Lazanis on how to improve your website

The example below shows you what not to do as the focus is entirely on the firm, not the client:

An example of a website that focuses on itself

While showcasing expertise in the accounting industry is not bad, keep the primary focus on how your services benefit clients’ financial situations and address their challenges. Remember, clients always look for what’s in it for them.

Profit Matter's client-centric messaging on its website

As such, instead of promoting your accounting skills, always prioritize client-centric messaging throughout your website. Address pain points, needs, and aspirations that potential clients might have.

2. Use Social Proof

Many of the best accountant websites incorporate social proof elements such as client reviews, case studies, success stories, and affiliations with reputable organizations.

Without social proof, establishing credibility can be a challenge, which can lead to skepticism and hinder potential clients from taking action on your website.

Leveraging social proof on your website is good, and it’s only one of the many marketing strategies for accountants.

3. Include Calls-to-Action

Including call-to-action (CTA) is a cornerstone of successful accounting website design.

By guiding visitors toward specific actions like “Get a Free Consultation” or “Download Our Financial Planning Guide,” you encourage engagement and initiate meaningful interactions that could turn into conversions.

TogetherCFO website that features CTAs

In the example above, visitors have a couple of ways to reach out to you, which is a good demonstration of your website’s effectiveness in fostering proactive engagement.

4. Leverage Modern Design and Visual Appeal

A sleek, contemporary design should be applied to accountant websites, as it communicates your firm’s professionalism and relevance.

Employ up-to-date layouts, typography, and visuals for an engaging and reliable online presence.

5. Don’t Use Big Blocks of Text

Web visitors skim, they don’t read.

So steer clear of big blocks of text like this:

And instead, use snappy content that’s easy to skim through, like this:

6. Put Your Value Proposition on Your Homepage

Communicate your firm’s unique value proposition clearly and succinctly.

Explain what sets you apart from other accounting sites and how your services address the specific needs of your target audience.

WardWilliams Creative homepage

If you don’t include a clear value proposition in your website design, you risk leaving visitors confused about what sets your accounting firm apart from others.

A strong value proposition not only improves your website but also plays a key role in attracting new clients.

7. Showcase Your Packages & Pricing

Once you’ve gathered a good amount of leads, I suggest you showcase your packages and pricing on your website.

Why?

Here’s my answer:

The goal is to deter low-quality or overly price-sensitive clients from reaching out or booking sales calls.

These clients often aren’t the right fit — they can:

  • Cause scope creep
  • Challenge your pricing
  • Require excessive hand-holding
  • Drain your resources without providing enough value in return

You have to avoid overwhelming visitors with a long list of accounting services. It can cause confusion and make it harder for them to understand what your firm really offers.

Instead, present your services in structured packages, like this:

Iconac's three-tiered pricing

You can check out this blog post on 3-tiered pricing if you want to know more about the reasons why I recommend this approach.

8. Optimize Your Website for Local SEO

Make it easier for potential clients to find you online.

Focus on keywords your ideal clients might search for, like “small business accountant” or “accounting advisory services [your city].”

For example, when I was running Xen Accounting, I made sure it was ranking for relevant keywords like “accounting firm montreal.”

As a result, it consistently ranked among the top search results, which significantly helped with lead generation and boosted my online reputation.

And until now, it still shows up in Google for that keyword!

Also, a fast-loading, mobile-friendly site also helps you rank higher and keeps visitors engaged.

A great website is exciting to think about.

And just in the next section, you’ll find a lot of inspiring websites.

But before you invest in a website, make sure that your accounting firm’s foundations are solid first.
